Do I get to meet the DJ?
Absolutely. It is our policy that every client meets their dj and is comfortable leading up to their event. You can schedule a free personal consultation at your convenience, your dj will be able to go over all the details of your event with you.
What's your style?
Our style is customer service. Jason Shires has personally trained every QMEP DJ to beat match, scratch, blend music seemlessly, perform as master of ceremonies, coordinate a wedding and how to be a QMEP customer service representative. Our philosophy is to adapt to our client's wishes. This includes everything from what we wear, to the music we play and the way we conduct ourselves on the microphone. Every party is different, we tailor our style to match whatever you want.
Will the party dj play my requests?
Yes. The wedding party dj will have your selected music and thousands of titles available in order to field requests.
What if I want a song that is not on the QMEP Music List?
No problem. We made the QMEP music list very user friendly, however it doesn't contain every song available to us, that would be overwhelming. Just because it's not on the list, doesn't mean that we don't have it. You can write down your selection on the back page of the music list under the "Yes" column, which is for definite plays. Your party dj will review the music with you prior to the event to make sure we have all of your selections.
Do I have to pick all the music? No. We don't want to give you a homework project. You can definitely leave it to the party dj, we will always do a great job! We like to get a feel for what you like and the type of music you want played at your event. We can easily determine this by asking a few quick questions. However, if you're really into music and want to have a major hand in the selections, we will accommodate. It's our job to blend the beats and rhythms, putting it together so it flows musically.
Can you play MP3s or Use My IPOD? Yes. Our party djs use the B52 Prodigy FX CDJ digital system that has six channels allowing us to read and play cds, mp3s, and ipods. This gives our djs another option, like having a third music player!
I am concerned about the volume of music, what can you do?
Our JBL speakers are powered, meaning they have built-in amplifiers. There is individual volume controls on each speaker giving us total zone control. Many times, it comes down to speaker placement, angle of the speakers and the actual volume on the speakers. QMEP DJs arrive 60 minutes prior to their events in order to strategically place speakers, according to the floor design and perform sound checks. Our djs, will walk the floor once your guests have arrived because we know a room sounds different with people in it and understand there is a comfort level for your guests to communicate, especially during cocktails and dinner.
Do you provide music for the ceremony?
Yes. One of the best things about having a dj perform your ceremony is the range of music that can be played. We can match any style you want from classical to country, to new age to jazzy. And we are able to play the original versions. We also provide complete sound systems, including speakers, a lapel microphone for your officiate and additional microphones for guest speakers or singers. We also provide a special ceremony cd if you need suggestions.
What if the ceremony area is separate from the reception area?
We provide a 2nd sound system, giving you complete coverage. This way, the dj is not breaking down the equipment, moving it over and setting up in front of your guests. The 2nd sound system is an upgrade and is available for just $150.
What if we want the dj to play beyond the contracted time?
We encourage you to only book the time you feel is needed. Our overtime rate is very reasonable and we give our djs the discretion, as a professional courtesy. They almost always stay and have a good time.
Do You have backup equipment? Yes.The DJ will have a backup microphone, speaker wires and power cords. Our speakers are powered, dividing power equally throughout the system and allowing us to provide a great sound.
What if, due to an emergency the DJ can't make it to the event? QMEP has never missed an event. However, we do keep an "on call dj" in case of an emergency. We also have a sister company that will provide dj support. As a Member of the American Disc Jockey Association, there are over a dozen Mobile DJ Companies in the Bay Area in which we can call upon.
Does the DJ take breaks?
No. This is a huge difference between djs and bands. While a band will most likely need a break at some point, your party dj will always be playing music and giving a great performance. QMEP DJs do not take breaks during and event.
Do you require a meal?
While it's much appreciated, QMEP does not require a meal for the dj. If you are having a sit down meal, we advise you not to purchase a meal for the dj, so you don't have additional costs. Most facilities or caterers will provide a seperate vendor meal.
Are you insured?
Yes. QMEP carries over 1 Million Dollars of Insurance.
