Located along the Las Trampas Creek in Lafayette, Ca. Founders Grove is one Bay Area Wedding Site that is rich in the sacredness of time, place and relationship.
Walk among its wooded grounds and lush creek banks and you feel the connection with the history of the grove and the many founders who have celebrated under its branches. The Native American tribe of Chochenyo inhabited the area from 500 AD into the late 1700’s. Winding across Founders Grove, families were carried on the stage coach route from Sacramento to San Francisco. In the early 1900’s, the grove was cleared, and a pear orchard was established. In 1954 the site was purchased by Lafayette Christian Church, bringing communities back into the grove. In 2007, the church began renovation of Marion Hall and Founders Grove. It now provides a chance to celebrate special moments in life.
